Andrew Duffield is the Liberal Democrat candidate for Hexham Parliamentary Constituency.
Andrew Duffield was educated at Plymouth and at Durham. He is a senior manager at Newcastle University and married to Helen, a farmer's daughter and middle school teacher from Corbridge in Tynedale. They have 2 children, one at middle school and one at high school in Northumberland, and rear a small number of livestock at their home on the edge of the Northumberland National Park.
Andrew served in the Royal Navy and has also worked as a manager in the National Health Service as well as running his own business in the County. He is a District and County Councillor in Northumberland and has twice stood for Parliament, putting a significant dent into Tony Blair's majority at Sedgefield in 2001.
Andrew has a record of campaigning for liberty and localism, and will fight to maintain Northumberland's Middle Schools where parents want them and it make economic and educational sense. He supports libertarian issues and actively promotes a fiscal solution to the crisis in affordable housing as well as in environmental, transport and regeneration matters.
